Median Nerve Glide
Nerve glides are gentle stretches to help nerves move freely through the arm. They can help to reduce pain and improve range of motion.
Tips:
-
Complete 3 times each day.
-
Move slowly and gently! Going too fast or aggressively can cause more pain or tingling.
-
It is normal to have tingling when performing the nerve glide, but this should go away quickly. If the pain or tingling continues after the exercise, stop doing the stretch and talk to your doctor or therapist.
How to perform a median nerve glide:
1. Stand or sit up straight with your arm at your side.

2. Bend your elbow.

3. Raise your elbow to shoulder height with your palm facing up, like you are carrying a tray of food.

4. While keeping your wrist bent back, straighten and bend your elbow, feeling a stretch in your forearm and hand. Repeat 10 times.

5. For an extra stretch, tilt your head to the opposite side while your elbow is straight.
