1. Move the seat back to provide enough space to lift your non-weightbearing leg into the vehicle. |

2. Back up to the vehicle using your walking equipment (walker, crutches). |

3. Reach back to the seat with at least one hand, keeping your non-weightbearing leg off the ground. The other hand may be supported on your walking equipment, or a stable, non-moving part of the vehicle (car frame, assist grip/grab handle, dashboard). Sit down. |

4. Scoot back into the seat. |

5. Turn yourself in the seat inside the vehicle, using your hands to support your leg if needed. Consider using a cushion or pillow to support your leg during travel. |
