Car Transfers into Front Seat (Non-weightbearing/Toe-touch weightbearing leg)

1. Move the seat back to provide enough space to lift your non-weightbearing leg into the vehicle.

2. Back up to the vehicle using your walking equipment (walker, crutches).

3. Reach back to the seat with at least one hand, keeping your non-weightbearing leg off the ground. The other hand may be supported on your walking equipment, or a stable, non-moving part of the vehicle (car frame, assist grip/grab handle, dashboard). Sit down.

4. Scoot back into the seat.

5. Turn yourself in the seat inside the vehicle, using your hands to support your leg if needed. Consider using a cushion or pillow to support your leg during travel.
